A movable arm floating hydraulic system for an excavator comprises a pilot pump, the pilot pump is connected with a movable arm floating pilot electromagnetic valve, the movable arm floating pilot electromagnetic valve is connected with a movable arm oil return switching valve, the movable arm floating pilot electromagnetic valve is connected to the hydraulic control end of the movable arm oil return switching valve, and one side of the movable arm oil return switching valve is connected with a movable arm oil cylinder. The other side of the movable arm oil return switching valve is connected with a main valve and a damping valve set, and the damping valve set is connected with an energy accumulator. According to the movable arm floating hydraulic system for the excavator, when oil enters a rodless cavity of the oil cylinder of the movable arm and oil returns from a rod cavity, hydraulic oil between the oil cylinder and the energy accumulator flows through a one-way valve in the damping valve, the flow speed is normal, the movable arm normally floats and lifts along with the ground protrusion, and on the contrary, when oil enters the rod cavity of the movable arm and oil returns from the rodless cavity of the movable arm, the flow speed is normal.
