The invention relates to the technical field of building curtain walls, in particular to a photovoltaic curtain wall which comprises an outer frame, a plurality of frame plates, a plurality of sets of connecting mechanisms and photovoltaic glass. A mounting cavity is formed in the outer frame; the connecting mechanism comprises four sets of limiting assemblies, each limiting assembly comprises a limiting insertion rod, a limiting boss and a plurality of elastic pieces, a sliding groove is formed in a frame beam of the frame plate, and the sliding groove communicates with an inner cavity of the frame plate; the limiting insertion rod and the frame plate are located in the same plane, a limiting insertion hole is formed in the outer frame, the end, extending into an inner cavity of the frame plate, of the limiting insertion rod is fixedly connected with the limiting boss, and the elastic pieces are located in the inner cavity of the frame plate; the invention further relates to a construction method of the photovoltaic curtain wall. The construction method comprises the steps of surveying and setting out, installation of the prefabricated base, installation of the outer frame, bonding of the sealing rubber strips, installation of the photovoltaic glass, installation of the frame plate, coating of weather-proof sealant and cleaning. And through elastic clamping connection of the frame plate and the outer frame, the installation efficiency of the frame plate is improved, and then the installation efficiency of the photovoltaic curtain wall is improved.
