The invention relates to the technical field of traffic safety, in particular to a road intersection protective fence for traffic safety and a mounting method of the protective fence. The protective fence comprises a stand column and a rotating rod, and the rotating rod is rotationally arranged on the stand column; the protective fence further comprises a first limiting block, a plurality of mounting blocks and a second limiting block which are sequentially connected with the rotating rod, a first buffering assembly and a second buffering assembly are arranged at the lower end of each mounting block, and the protective fence further comprises two limiting piles and a protective assembly. The two limiting piles can clamp the first limiting block and the second limiting block correspondingly, and the protection assembly is arranged at the end, away from the vehicle, of the protective fence and used for limiting the vehicle from rushing into the rail. By arranging the buffer rod and the buffer air bag, a collided vehicle is buffered for multiple times, the buffer effect is better, and particularly when a two-wheeled vehicle is used, damage to a driver is reduced.
