The invention provides an intelligent flow dividing well which comprises a well body, a check gate, a first liquid level meter, a second liquid level meter, a COD water quality sensor and a control system, a groove is formed in the bottom of the middle section of the well body, the check gate is arranged in the groove in a sliding mode and divides the well body into an upstream well and a downstream well, and the upstream well is connected with a sewage inlet pipe and a sewage intercepting pipe connected with a sewage treatment system. The downstream well is connected with a water outlet pipe, the check gate is connected with a first telescopic device, the sewage intercepting pipe is provided with a gate, the gate is connected with a second telescopic device, the COD water quality sensor is fixedly installed on the upstream well, and the control system controls lifting of the check gate and opening and closing of the gate through the first telescopic device and the second telescopic device. The invention further provides an intelligent flow dividing method, the intelligent flow dividing well can be intelligently controlled, the intelligent degree is high, operation is optimized, and a common flow dividing well only carries out manual control on single equipment.
