A block for automated building construction, the block comprising a cuboid comprising opposing top and bottom, a pair of opposing ends, and a pair of opposing sides; the building block can be divided into a plurality of block body parts in the length direction, and at least one separating groove which extends between the top part and the bottom part and transversely penetrates through the building block exists between each pair of adjacent block body parts. The or each separation groove is separated from an opposite side or an adjacent separation groove by an elongated web bridging and connecting adjacent block portions; each block portion includes a plurality of apertures extending between a top and a bottom thereof, where the plurality of apertures includes at least one larger aperture and a plurality of smaller apertures spaced around the or each larger aperture; and wherein each of the ends at the opposite ends of the block comprises at least one protruding tongue extending between the top and bottom of the block, the or each protruding tongue being laterally offset relative to the protruding tongue at the other end of the block.
