The invention provides a construction method of an attached lifting scaffold on a step-type variable-cross-section building, which comprises the following steps of: removing parts on two sides of a lifting scaffold body mounted on the side wall of the lower part of a building step, mounting a scissor jack on the side wall of the upper part of the building step at a position corresponding to a guide rail of the lifting scaffold body, and lifting the lifting scaffold body; the height of the lifting scaffold body is increased, and the scissor jacks are compressed from top to bottom until the scissor jacks on the upper portion and the lower portion of the lifting scaffold body are all compressed to be the shortest. The scissor jack is arranged, the position of the guide rail base in the horizontal direction is adjusted through the scissor jack, the lifting scaffold on the lower portion of the building step can be directly lifted to the upper portion of the building step, and then the distance between the lifting scaffold body and the side wall of the building is gradually reduced through the scissor jack; the lifting scaffold is shrunk to be matched with the upper portion of a building step in size.
