The invention relates to the field of bridges, and discloses a sling type tied arch bridge and a bridge construction method.The sling type tied arch bridge comprises an arch bridge unit, and the arch bridge unit comprises a tie beam, an arch bridge main frame and a lower bearing assembly erected below the arch bridge main frame; the arch bridge main frame comprises a main arch ring and arch feet, the two ends of the main arch ring are connected with the arch feet respectively, a straining beam is erected between the two arch feet, a plurality of suspenders extending in the first direction are arranged between the main arch ring and the straining beam, the upper ends of the suspenders are connected with the main arch ring, and the lower ends of the suspenders are connected with the straining beam; the lower bearing assembly comprises a base, a sling, cross beams and supporting columns, the cross beams are installed on the base, the two ends, in the second direction, of the sling are connected with the cross beams respectively, the straining beams are located between every two adjacent cross beams and connected with the cross beams, the multiple supporting columns extending in the first direction are arranged between the sling and the straining beams, and the upper ends of the supporting columns are connected with the straining beams; the lower end of the supporting column is connected with the hanging belt, and a traveling face used for passing is arranged above the straining beam.
