The invention discloses a fish passing system utilizing a longitudinal cofferdam for fish passing, and belongs to the technical field of water conservancy and hydropower ecological protection. The system comprises a riverway and a floating type fishway, a longitudinal cofferdam is arranged in the riverway in the water flow direction and connected with a bank slope on one side of the riverway through a transverse cofferdam, the downstream section of the longitudinal cofferdam is bent in the direction away from the transverse cofferdam to form a bent arc section, and a fish trapping mechanism is arranged on the downstream side of the bent arc section. The floating type fishway is in sliding connection with the waterside of the longitudinal cofferdam, and the downstream end of the floating type fishway is connected with the downstream end of the fish trapping mechanism through the fish lifting mechanism. The floating fishway can be self-adaptively lifted according to the water level of the upstream reservoir area of the high dam, so that downstream fishes can be smoothly upstream migrated to the water level of the upstream reservoir area of the high dam, the fishes are prevented from being greatly impacted when entering the water body of the reservoir area, and fish protection is facilitated.
