The invention discloses a carbon-graphite material for mechanical sealing and a preparation method thereof, and the method comprises the following steps: adding 60-80 parts of calcined coke and 5-10 parts of a cross-linking promoting agent into a kneading pot for mixing, then adding 20-30 parts of a surface modifier into the kneading pot for kneading, after kneading is finished, carrying out sheet rolling, crushing and screening to obtain pressed powder, and then carrying out carbonization treatment on the pressed powder to obtain the carbon-graphite material for mechanical sealing.
