The invention provides a magnesium-manganese spinel refractory material as well as a preparation method and application thereof, and belongs to the technical field of refractory materials. The invention provides a magnesium-manganese spinel refractory material. The magnesium-manganese spinel refractory material is prepared from the following raw materials in percentage by mass: 60-85% of magnesia, 3-20% of magnesium aluminate spinel, 3-20% of manganese aluminate spinel and 2-3% of a binding agent. By controlling the content of the magnesium aluminate spinel and the manganese aluminate spinel, the manganese aluminate spinel and the magnesium aluminate spinel can form a synergistic effect, and the mechanical flexibility of the refractory material is improved. Experimental results show that the magnesium-manganese spinel refractory material provided by the invention has the porosity of 14-18%, the volume density of 2.90-3.00 g/cm < 3 >, the normal-temperature compressive strength of 50-80 MPa, the normal-temperature breaking strength of 5-10 MPa, the abrasion loss of 6-15 cm < 3 > and the elastic modulus of 18-25 GPa.
