The invention provides a heat insulation and fire resistance graded protection method for a suspension bridge cable structural system. The method comprises the following steps that the fortification temperature of a cable steel wire is determined by carrying out a cable high-strength steel wire high-temperature mechanical property test; carrying out a large-size temperature field test of the cable structure system under a real fire according to a similarity theory, and determining a fortification height and a graded fortification height of the cable structure system; a graded protection strategy is determined by carrying out heat transfer analogue simulation on a cable structure fireproof system; and performing regional protection on the bridge cable structural system. The economical efficiency of the protection system is improved while the fire-resistant protection requirement of the bridge cable structure system is met.
