The invention provides an arch bridge main arch maintenance assembly platform and a construction method, the platform comprises a single frame unit, a gliding component force transmission mechanism, a frame unit connecting mechanism and an arch column positioning mechanism, the single frame unit comprises a plurality of first rod pieces and a pair of supporting rod pieces, and the plurality of first rod pieces are transversely connected between the pair of supporting rod pieces; the gliding component force transmission mechanism comprises two second rod pieces and an adjusting connecting structure, one ends of the two second rod pieces are connected to the pair of supporting rod pieces respectively, and the other ends of the two second rod pieces are fixedly connected through the adjusting connecting structure in a telescopic adjusting mode and span the web rod pieces between the arch columns; the frame unit connecting mechanism is connected among the plurality of single frame units; the arch column positioning mechanism is positioned on the outer wall face of the arch column and connected with the first rod piece. The platform does not need to be welded, does not occupy ground space, is convenient to go up and down, high in safety, simple and light in structure, capable of being quickly mounted and dismounted, high in universality and capable of being used in similar arch bridge structures.
