Vehicle hood
The invention provides an engine hood for a vehicle, which is light in weight, ensures sufficient tensile rigidity, ensures good pedestrian protection performance and improves safety. A hood for a vehicle is provided with an outer plate (11), an inner plate (13), a lock member (15) that engages with a lock mechanism provided in the front of the vehicle, and a lock reinforcement (17) that is provided in the inner plate (13) and reinforces a lock part (30) in the inner plate (13) to which the lock member (15) is attached. The inner plate (13) has a bottom surface section (21), an inner joining section (25) that extends from the bottom surface section (21) toward the outer plate (11), and an inclined wall section (25a) that connects the bottom surface section (21) and the inner joining section (25), and the inclined wall section (25a) has a cut-up section (41) that is cut up toward the outer plate (11) and joined to the outer plate (11). The lock reinforcement (17) has one-end-side support section (53a) and the other-end-side support section (53b), which are support sections that extend toward the outer plate (11) and support the cut and raised section (41) from the opposite side to the outer plate (11).
