The mechanical body is provided with a first controller and a second controller; the first controller is used for acquiring information of the upturning limiting sensor or the downturning limiting sensor, the parking lamp and the gear, and judging whether the upturning self-reset button or the downturning self-reset button is forbidden or not and whether the surround view system is started or not according to the acquired information; the second controller responds to a barrier-free signal sent by the surround view system and a signal that the downward turning self-reset button or the upward turning self-reset button is started, and controls the crawling ladder to be turned downwards to the position away from the ground by a preset distance or turned upwards. The situation that the crawling ladder encounters obstacles in a movement area and the adaptability of the crawling ladder to different ground heights are fully considered, the safety of overturning operation of the crawling ladder is improved, and the risk that the crawling ladder is damaged in the downward overturning process is reduced.
