The invention provides a multifunctional iron tailing asphalt pavement material and a preparation method thereof. The multifunctional iron tailing asphalt pavement material is prepared from the following raw materials: aggregate and composite modified asphalt. The composite modified asphalt is prepared from the following raw materials: asphalt and an additive. The additive is prepared from the following raw materials: tetrahydropyrane ether, N-(beta-aminoethyl)-gamma aminopropyl-methyl-trimethoxy silane and potassium hypobutoxy. The aggregate is prepared from the following raw materials: iron tailings, iron tailing sand, iron tailing powder, oil-rich regenerated aggregate, waste rubber particles and aromatic polyamide fibers. Independent addition of N-(beta-aminoethyl)-gamma aminopropyl-methyl-trimethoxysilane and potassium hypobutoxide does not improve the ice inhibition capability of the asphalt pavement material, and under the condition of simultaneous addition of N-(beta-aminoethyl)-gamma aminopropyl-methyl-trimethoxysilane and potassium hypobutoxide, the ice inhibition effect of the asphalt pavement material is significantly enhanced.
