The porous ceramic is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 100 parts of a shell-containing mixture and 10-50 parts of a pore forming agent, wherein the shell-containing mixture comprises the following components in percentage by mass: 50-80 wt% of diatomite and 20-50 wt% of a shell raw material; according to the invention, the porous ceramic is prepared from the marine waste shells, the raw material diatomite is a green mineral resource with low price, the shells are stacked marine solid wastes, and the prepared porous ceramic can be repeatedly used, so that the production cost is reduced by 20-40%, and the porous ceramic has environmental protection significance.
