The invention discloses an impervious low-shrinkage inorganic coating and a preparation method thereof. The impervious low-shrinkage inorganic coating comprises the following components in parts by mass: 40-60 parts of a cement material; 15-30 parts of an active mixed material; 5 to 15 parts of gypsum; 5 to 15 parts of talcum powder; 0-2 parts of glyceryl stearate; and 4.7 to 6.7 parts of an additive. Green inorganic materials are selected, the characteristics that low-heat Portland cement is slow in hydration, high-magnesium low-heat Portland cement is slightly expanded, and ettringite products formed between gypsum and cement hydration products are slightly expanded are combined, the problem of material shrinkage is relieved through slight expansion, and a compact structure is formed; and glyceryl stearate is subjected to a saponification reaction under an alkaline condition, so that the hydrophobic anti-seepage property is achieved.
