The invention provides a method for manufacturing a formaldehyde-free gypsum plaster board and the gypsum plaster board manufactured by the method. The method comprises the following steps: mixing calcined gypsum, water, starch and a water reducing agent to form gypsum board mother slurry; part of the gypsum board mother slurry is led out, and meanwhile water and a formaldehyde purifying agent are introduced into the led-out gypsum board mother slurry to form first gypsum board child slurry; part of the gypsum board mother slurry is led out, and meanwhile, a foaming agent is introduced into the led-out gypsum board mother slurry to form second gypsum board child slurry; paving the first gypsum board sub-slurry on the lower surface protection paper; paving the second gypsum board sub-slurry between the first gypsum board sub-slurry and the upper surface protection paper after a period of time; and carrying out compression molding, cutting and drying to obtain the gypsum plaster board. According to the formaldehyde-removing gypsum plaster board, the formaldehyde removal rate is remarkably increased, and the mechanical performance is enhanced.
