The invention relates to a drainage structure located on a highway slope and a construction method thereof, a mountain body above a highway comprises a potential landslide body and an upper edge body, the potential landslide body is arranged between the upper edge body and the highway, and the drainage structure comprises a first inflation pipe, a first air delivery pipe and an air compressor; a plurality of first drill holes are formed in the side, close to the potential landslide body, of the upper edge body, and the first inflation pipes are inserted into the first drill holes and connected with the air compressor through first air conveying pipes. The first inflation pipe is provided with a first air hole for air to penetrate through, and the air is diffused into the upper edge body through the first air hole. According to the method, high-pressure gas is injected into the edge area of the upper edge body, and the waterproof curtain is arranged on the moving path of underground water of the upper edge body; rainwater of the upper edge body is mostly discharged through surface runoff, the flowing amount of underground water of the upper edge body to the potential landslide body is reduced, the weight of the potential landslide body is reduced, and the risk that the potential landslide body develops into landslide is reduced.
