The invention discloses a temporary supporting device for an overhanging floor support plate outside an edge steel beam and a using method of the temporary supporting device, and belongs to the technical field of building construction. A structural steel beam is installed on the lower side of the overhanging floor support plate, and the section of the structural steel beam is in an I shape and vertically extends downwards; the temporary supporting device comprises a protective stand column, an upper chord, a lower chord, a web member, a sliding lug plate, a fixed lug plate, a connecting rod and a buckle, the upper chord is installed on the lower side of the cantilever floor support plate in parallel, one end of the upper chord makes contact with an upper flange of the structural steel beam and extends towards the side where the web plate is located, and the other end of the upper chord is hinged to the protective stand column. The protection stand columns are vertically arranged at the outer ends of the cantilever floor bearing plates. Lower chord members are hinged to the lower sides of the upper chord members corresponding to the protective stand columns, and the lower chord members obliquely extend downwards towards the side where the structural steel beam is located. By adopting the device and the method, the influence of the structure on the main body structure steel beam during construction can be reduced, the protection effect is good, and later reutilization is facilitated.
