The method comprises the steps that the shortest distance of an obstacle in the vehicle door opening process is determined according to ultrasonic radars on the upper portion and the lower portion of the outer side of a vehicle door; according to the shortest distance fed back by the radar, the maximum side-hung opening angle and the maximum scissor opening angle are calculated, the opening angles corresponding to the two vehicle door opening modes are compared, and the most appropriate vehicle door opening mode and opening angle are fed back; controlling the vehicle door to complete movement according to the fed-back information content; the problem that an existing semi-automatic vehicle door opening mode cannot conduct self-adaptive obstacle avoidance on obstacles outside a vehicle door, and consequently the convenience and flexibility of an existing semi-automatic vehicle door are insufficient is solved.
