The invention provides a modular building connecting joint. The modular building connecting joint comprises a first module, a second module, a self-locking structure and a lifting lug structure. The first module comprises a module column A and a module column B; the module A column and the module B column are detachably connected, and the outer walls of the module A column and the module B column are provided with a module A ceiling beam and a module B ceiling beam respectively; the second module is positioned above the first module and comprises a module column C and a module column D; the module column C and the module column D are detachably connected, and a module floor beam C and a module floor beam D are arranged on the outer walls of the module column C and the module column D respectively; the module C floor beam and the module D floor beam are detachably connected with the module A ceiling beam and the module B ceiling beam respectively; the self-locking structure is arranged on the first module and the second module and is used for self-locking; the lifting lug structure is arranged at the tops of the first module and the second module. The invention further provides an installation method of the connection joint. The structure is simple, installation is convenient, indoor and outdoor decoration space is not occupied, and meanwhile stability is improved through a detachable structure and a self-locking structure.
