The invention relates to the technical field of stone machining, and provides a stone protecting and reinforcing process which comprises the following steps: S1, grooving; a structural groove is formed in the back face of the stone plate; step S2, washing; washing the back surface of the stone plate and the inner side of the structural groove; s3, plugging the groove end; the two ends of the structural groove are blocked through a blocking structure, so that the two ends of the structural groove are kept closed; step S4, planting steel bars; ribs are arranged in the structural grooves; step S5, pouring glue; and an adhesive is poured into the structural groove, and then the adhesive higher than the back face of the stone plate is scraped off. On the basis, the stone plate can be reinforced to improve the structural strength, and the situation that local cracks or fractures occur in the stone plate transportation process is reduced.
