The invention relates to an automatic early warning type ponding road section warning sign which comprises a supporting stand column, a warning sign board and a buoyancy system, the supporting stand column is connected with the warning sign board, the warning sign board comprises a first board face and a second board face, the second board face is connected with the buoyancy system, in a first state, the second board face covers the first board face, and in a second state, the second board face covers the second board face. In the second state, along with the rising of the water level, the buoyancy system assists the second board to be away from the first board, so that the first board is exposed. Compared with a traditional sign, the design structure is more novel, the function is not single any more, and the effect is visual. Through the change of the water level and the up-and-down action of the floating ball, the information of the sign board surface is changed along with the change of the ponding state, real-time ponding information is provided for a driver, and the driver is further reminded to pay attention to ponding, slow down and prevent traffic accidents.
