The invention relates to a light composite material for a fireproof safety box and a preparation method thereof, and the light composite material is prepared by mixing and solidifying the following components in parts by weight: 100 parts of cement; 20 to 36 parts of calcium hydroxide; 18 to 28 parts of expanded vermiculite; 3-5 parts of flame-retardant foamed polyphenyl particles; 2.7 to 4.0 parts of water glass; 0.3 to 0.8 part of a polycarboxylic acid water reducing agent; 0.3 to 0.7 part of an antirust agent; 10-25 parts of fire-resistant reinforced fibers; and 65-84 parts of water. Compared with the prior art, the light composite material for the fireproof safety box and the preparation method thereof have the advantages that on the premise of ensuring the heat insulation performance, the specific gravity of a mixed material is greatly reduced, the service life of a product is greatly prolonged, the quality of the product is greatly improved, and the anti-theft performance is enhanced.
