The invention relates to a top hanging type construction method for replacing large-scale equipment in a steel structure factory building, and solves the problems that the transportation difficulty of equipment entering and exiting the factory building is large when some large-scale equipment in the original steel structure factory building is replaced, and non-stop operation in the equipment replacement process is difficult to realize. The method comprises the following steps that S1, a roof dismantling area is delimited; s2, a protective shed is installed above the roof dismantling area, a hole used for hoisting equipment is reserved in the middle of the protective shed, and the protective shed is wholly covered with a film; s3, the roof of the dismantling area is dismantled; s4, a covering film and a single-layer rod piece at the hole opening of the protective shed are dismantled, the hole opening area is cleared, and old equipment is hoisted out of the hole opening through a crane; new equipment is hoisted from the hole, and the hole of the protective shed is covered with a film again after hoisting is completed; s5, the roof in the dismantling area is restored and installed; and S6, the protective shed above the roof is dismantled. According to the method, large equipment in a plant is replaced under the condition that the positions of other equipment are not influenced in a manner of erecting a shed to disassemble and assemble the steel structure roof structure.
