Ein Maschinenwartungssollposition-Steuersystem (150) wird an einer Maschine (20, 220) verwendet, die einen Rahmen (24, 224), mit dem Rahmen (24, 224) verbundene Traktionsvorrichtungen (32, 232), eine mit den Traktionsvorrichtungen verbundene und zum Drehen der Traktionsvorrichtungen ausgelegte Leistungsquelle, eine mit dem Rahmen verbundene Walzenkammer (36, 236), eine drehbar innerhalb der Walzenkammer gelagerte und zum Eingriff mit einer Bodenfläche (22) ausgelegte Fräswalze (38, 238) und einen mit der Fräswalze verbundenen und zum Drehen der Fräswalze zum Fräsen der Bodenfläche ausgelegten Rotorantriebsstrang (200), wobei der Rotorantriebszug ein Getriebe beinhaltet. Das Wartungssollposition-Steuersystem (150) ist zur Ermittlung einer Position zumindest des Rotorantriebsstrangs (200) und zur selektiven Betätigung eines mit dem Rotorantriebsstrang verbundenen Aktors basierend auf der ermittelten Position programmiert, um die Maschine in eine Maschinenwartungssollposition zu bewegen, die einen einfachen Zugang für eine Bedienperson zur Durchführung der Wartung ermöglicht.
