The invention relates to a lighting installation (1) comprising: at least one translucent, flat, preferably planar, front element (2); a rear wall (6) or cover parallel to the front element (2); an intermediate space (7) arranged between the front element (2) and the rear wall (6) or cover; a plurality of lighting elements (8) which are arranged in the intermediate space (7) and cannot be seen from outside the lighting installation, at least when the lighting elements (8) are not active; an access point (27), through which the intermediate space (7) is accessible from outside the lighting installation (1) and through which the at least one lighting element (8) can be removed from the intermediate space (7) and inserted into same. In order to facilitate replacement of the lighting elements (8) in the event of damage, it is proposed to provide a displacement device (10) by means of which the lighting elements (8) can be moved, preferably in succession, to the access point (27) and then outside or through the access point (27) to the outside; and an articulated and/or detachable connection between adjacent lighting elements (8). A method is also disclosed for replacing at least one lighting element (8) in a lighting installation (1).

In order to facilitate replacement of the lighting elements (8) in the event of damage, it is proposed to provide a displacement device (10) by means of which the lighting elements (8) can be moved, preferably in succession, to the access point (27) and then outside or through the access point (27) to the outside; and an articulated and/or detachable connection between adjacent lighting elements (8). A method is also disclosed for replacing at least one lighting element (8) in a lighting installation (1).
