When work is being carried out along, below or above traffic routes and/or in rail transport there is a requirement to be able to continue to use the area with the fewest possible restrictions, even with no restrictions, and to carry out work quickly and in a manner which is safe for traffic. The invention, i.e. the street carrier, belongs to the technical field of mobile working platforms and is an automotive/self-driving or towed construction according to Fig. 2, having at least one mobile and self-levelling working platform which is flexibly, vertically and/or horizontally adaptable and can move above and/or alongside the areas to be worked on. The street carrier can adapt to traffic routes so that the necessary work can be performed with minimal traffic restrictions, includes lifting equipment which can be adapted in size, devices for controlling the traffic and for creating loading and unloading zones, and working cages for operations below the working platform, and is statically dimensioned so that humans and/or machines and/or all tools and construction materials can be accommodated on the platform in a space-saving manner during operation of the construction site.
