The invention relates to a drive device (10) for driving a door leaf that can be pivoted about a vertical axis. Said device comprises a push-pull unit (12) with a leaf connection part (14), which can be connected in a pivoting manner to the door leaf, as the first element and a support unit (16), which can be mounted on a fixed bearing in a pivoting manner, as the second element. Said support unit has a motor drive assembly (30) for driving a linear, translatory relative displacement of the two elements (14, 16). The device also comprises an emergency release mechanism (34) for decoupling the leaf connection part (14) from the motor drive assembly (30). To obtain a cost-effective emergency release mechanism that is simple to operate, said mechanism (34) is mounted on the leaf connection part (14).
