R : 1-15C-aliphatic remainder (optionally saturated and optionally substituted by halo, NH 2, OH, NHR 1>, NR 1> 2 or OR 1>) or 4-26C-aromatic remainder (optionally saturated and optionally substituted by halo, NH 2, OH, NHR 1>, NR 1> 2, OR 1> or R 1>); R 1>1-10C-aliphatic remainder (optionally saturated) or 6-10C-alicyclic or aromatic (both optionally substituted); X : H, alkali metal or NR 2> 4; R 2>H or aliphatic-, alicyclic- or aromatic remainder containing 1/2 alkaline earth metal, 1/3 Al or 1/3 Fe; and n : 1-10. An independent claim is included for a process to prepare the iron oxide pigment comprising mixing the iron oxide pigment with iron(II)-content (at least 5 wt.%, as iron(II)oxide) and (I) or a suspension or a paste containing (I), and then optionally drying and grounding the mixture.
