For absorbing an impact of a sliding door of the vehicle (10) caused by moving the sliding door from a non-open position to an open position the shock absorber (11) comprises a base body (25), a first impact element (19), and a second impact element (20) arranged behind the first impact element (19) in an impact direction (18). Between the first impact element (19) and the second impact element (20) a gap (22) is arranged.
