The invention relates to a lock for a motor vehicle door comprising: - a counterplate (3) intended to be fastened to a motor vehicle door, - a bolt (5) and a bolt pin (7), the bolt (5) being intended to cooperate with a strike and able to rotate around the bolt pin (7) between an open position and a closed position of the lock, and a pawl (6) comprising a pivoting pawl pin (10) and a retaining end (11) able to cooperate with said bolt (5) in the closed position of the lock to prevent the rotation of the bolt (5), characterised in that said lock comprises a guide element (41; 42; 43; 44; 45; 46) in which at least one guide hole (12) is arranged to guide the rotation of the pawl pin (10) and in that the lock comprises at least one reinforcing pillar (14, 15; 21, 22) maintaining the guide element, said guide element (41; 42; 43; 44; 45; 46) being separated from the bolt pin (7).
