The invention relates to a driver for the leaf of a window or the like. The driver comprises a drive unit for moving a wing with respect to a fixed frame by means of a drive element, wherein the driveunit is attachable via a holder to the wing or the frame by embedding a pin shaft arranged on the drive unit in a receptacle configured for the holder. In this case, at least one pin shaft is configured as a pushbutton-like pin shaft resiliently loaded in its extended position; the pin shaft is provided with a stop mechanism movable between a release position, in which the resiliently loaded pushbutton-like pin shaft can resist to the spring to be pressed into the drive unit from its extended position, and a stop position in which the resiliently loaded pushbutton-like pin shaft is locked inits extended position.
