ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK DEVICE
A carrier (7) is capable of moving between a locked position where a lock rod (8) is capable of engaging with an engagement-receiving part (SE) of a steering shaft (S) and a locking-side overrun position located further forward than the locked position. While located in the locked position, the carrier (7) engages with a gear member (4) via a mechanism for converting rotational motion of the gear member (4) into motion of the carrier (7) along a rotational axis (X). While located in the locking-side overrun position, the carrier (7) disengages from the gear member (4), and allows the gear member (4) to idly rotate. While the carrier (7) is located at the locked position or close to the steering shaft (S) beyond the locked position, a stopper part (26) stops the lock rod (8) from moving toward the steering shaft (S) beyond an engagement position where the lock rod (8) engages with the engagement-receiving part (SE) of the steering shaft (S).
