The invention relates to a device for slidingly guiding a load, in particular a sliding door (2), comprising a horizontal guide (1) for at least one anchor (6) receiving the load, which has inversely polarised permanent magnets (7, 8 or 9, 10) separated from one another by a non-ferromagnetic intermediate part (11), arranged vertically above one another and having polar axes perpendicular to the vertical guide plane of the anchor (6), wherein the permanent magnets (7, 8; 9, 10) are arranged in a ferromagnetic circuit that is substantially closed by the horizontal guide (1). In order to achieve advantageous construction conditions, according to the invention, two respective permanent magnets (7, 8 or 9, 10) are arranged between two ferromagnetic outer sections (12) on both side of a ferromagnetic central section (13), of which the opposing permanent magnets (7, 8 or 9, 10) relative to the central section (13) are inversely polarised and belong to separate ferromagnetic circuits formed by the common central section (13) and one of the outer sections (12), and the horizontal guide (1) forms either the central section (13) or the outer sections (12) and completely covers the pole surfaces of the upper permanent magnets (7, 9).
