The present invention relates to a guide rail assembly for an opening limiter for a leaf of a window, door or the like. The guide rail assembly comprises a guide rail, in which a carriage that can be coupled in an articulated manner to a limiting arm is arranged, said carriage being displaceable via the guide rail between a first position, which corresponds to a closed state of the leaf, and a second position, which corresponds to an open state of the leaf. Furthermore, an end stop is provided that prevents the carriage being displaced beyond the end stop. In addition, a reversibly deformable damping unit is provided between the end stop and the carriage, which damping unit comprises, according to the invention, a reversibly deformable damping element and at least one retaining element captively connected to the guide rail, by means of which retaining element the damping element is captively retained in the guide rail.
