The invention relates to a device (10) for detachably fastening a railing arrangement to a scaffolding element (12). It comprises a connection head (28) and a wedge (16). The connection head (28) has a first head part (26.1) and a second head part (26.2), which have wedge openings for the wedge (16). Between the first head part (26.1) and the second head part (26.2), a slot (52) is formed that is open towards the support side (23) and towards side wall part outer faces (46.1, 46.2; 46.3, 46.4) of side wall parts of the connection head (28). The slot (52) is delimited towards the first head part (26.1) with first slot faces of the head part (26.1) and is delimited towards the second head part (26.2) with second slot faces of the second head part (26.2), which extend on both sides of a fitting slot central plane of the fitting slot (52). The side wall part outer faces (46.1, 46.2, 46.3, 46.4) run in a wedge shape to a centre axis and enclose a wedge angle. A railing fastening device (62) is permanently fastened to a rear wall part of the connection head (28). The railing fastening device (62) contains a railing fastening tab (15), which has a through hole (63) which is rectangular or designed as an elongate hole extending along its longitudinal axis.
