A motorised drive device for an occultation or solar protection device comprises a housing, an electric motor, a drive wheel configured to be driven in rotation by means of the electric motor and to be placed in contact with a first rolling surface of a rod, at least one driven wheel configured to rotate freely and for being placed in contact with a second rolling surface of the rod, and an adjustment mechanism (8). The adjustment mechanism (8) is configured to adjust a distance between the axis of rotation of the drive wheel and the axis of rotation of the driven wheel. The adjustment mechanism (8) comprises a rack (41) and a pawl (42). In addition, the pawl (42) is configured to interact with the rack (41) so as to adjust the distance between the axis of rotation of the drive wheel and the axis of rotation of the driven wheel.
