The invention relates to a connecting rail or rod for inserting in a window fittings opening, whereby the rod has a modular geometry provided with one or several optional zones for mounting an option such as a locking cam, whereby an optional zone comprises a break-away zone which after being broken away forms an opening in the rod for mounting the relevant option.
