[Problem] To provide a work machine control method, a work machine control program, a work machine control system, and work machine that enable an operator to easily and intuitively recognize that a detection target is present in a monitoring area.[Solution] The work machine control method includes acquiring captured images Im11, Im12, and Im 13 of a monitoring area around a work machine, and displaying a display screen Dp1 including the captured images Im11, Im12, and Im13 and a detection object Im10 on a display device. The work machine control method further includes displaying the detection object Im10 at an identical position on the display screen Dp1 regardless of a detection result of a detector that detects a detection target in the monitoring area, while changing a display mode of the detection object Im10 according to the detection result.
