The present invention relates to a method for producing a shaped ceramic body, in particular a dental shaped ceramic body, which allows physical properties of the shaped body to be deliberately adjusted. According to the method, a porous shaped ceramic body is treated with at least one chelate ligand-containing fluid. The invention further relates to a shaped ceramic body that can be obtained in accordance with the method according to the invention. The invention also relates to the use of the shaped ceramic body according to the invention for producing dental restorations such as an inlay, onlay, veneer, crown, bracket, bridge, or scaffold, abutment or implant.
