An insulation render comprising the following substances: a) 25% to 40% by weight of cement, b) 10% to 60% by weight of expanded glass, c) 2% to 7% by weight of a polymer dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, d) 1% to 50% by weight of spherical-form perlite having a particle size of from 0.01 to 0.5 mm, e) 0% to 1% by weight of cellulose, f) 1% to 9% by weight of hollow glass spheres having a diameter of from 30 to 120 µm, g) 0% to 1% by weight of glass fibers, h) 0% to 0.7% by weight of activated sodium bentonite, i) 0% to 0.5% by weight of a dispersing agent, j) 0% to 3% by weight of zinc borate, k) 0% to 5% by weight of a plasticizer, l) 0% to 10% by weight of an aerogel, and m) 0% to 5% by weight of an antimicrobial compound, the sum total of components a) to m) adding up to 100% by weight, has good heat insulation properties.
