Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Weichen- oder Kreuzungskomponente (10), umfassend eine Basiskomponente (12), eine auswechselbare Komponente (20), zumindest eine lösbare Verbindung mittels der die auswechselbare Komponente (20) mit der Basiskomponente (10) verbindbar ist sowie zumindest einen Sensor (58) zur Überwachung der Qualität der lösbaren Verbindung, wobei in dem Sensor (58) beim Überfahren eines Schienenfahrzeugs über die Weichen- oder Kreuzungskomponente ein Signal erzeugt wird, das repräsentativ für die Qualität der lösbaren Verbindung ist. Zur sicheren Erkennung einer sich lösenden Verbindung ist vorgesehen, dass der Sensor in der Basiskomponente angeordnet und fest mit dieser verbunden ist.
