The subject matter of the invention is a method for mounting a drive unit (1) for automotive engineering in or on an associated housing (2), in particular for fastening a door drive (1) in a drive housing (2), whereby the housing (2) is manufactured and equipped with at least one hole (5) for defining a bearing point for a preferably rotating drive component (7, 8, 9, 10, 11). According to the invention, during the manufacture of the housing, the hole (5) is produced with a cross section (Q1) that is smaller than a usage dimension, and is then reworked to the usage dimension (Q2).
