KNOB AND KEY-ACTUATED DOUBLE CYLINDER LOCK

Mul-T-Lock Technologies Ltd., an ASSA ABLOY company, has developed a double cylinder lock (10) that includes a key-operated cylinder housing (12), a knob cylinder housing (16) that has a knob mechanism (18), and a rotatable cam (30). A blocking element (40) is initially in a blocking position with respect to the cam (30) that prevents rotation of the cam (30). The knob mechanism (18) includes a knob (20) coupled to a rotation transfer member (22), which is coupled to a cam-thrower element (24) arranged to turn the cam (30). The rotation transfer member (22) is coupled to the blocking element (40). Rotation of the knob (20) causes movement of the rotation transfer member (22), which causes the blocking element (40) to move out of the blocking position and enables rotation of the cam (30) by rotation of the knob (20).
