A method for molding a ceramic core includes introducing a slurry to a mold (604) and vibrating the mold (604). The slurry has: silica-containing particles; polymer fiber; and matrix precursor. The mold (604) has an outer tool (606) and a liner (608) held within the outer tool (606). The vibrating comprises operating a plurality of vibration transducers (630A, 632A, 634A, 636A) distributed along the mold (604).
