A flexible facing layer 16 for altering or creating the appearance of an exterior wall of a building comprises an absorbent flexible facing substrate (22, fig 3) and powdered aggregate (24, fig 3) bonded to the facing substrate 22. The aggregate is at least in part recycled from solid material and bonded to the substrate by a polymeric binder (30, fig 4). This is formed into a brick- or stone-work effect. The solid material may be inorganic, preferably from brick, stone or rock aggregate. The facing substrate may be at least partially porous. In use the wrap can be applied to a contoured surface. Also claimed is a method of making and said facing layer.
