Base for a fence assembly
A base 1 having a lower surface 2, a volume 5 into which ballast can be loaded and an engagement means, such as an adjustable bracket (20, Fig. 11), for the attachment of a fence post or panel. The engagement means may be removably mounted in slot 7 and may be adjustable to allow the angle of the post or panel with respect to the floor to be varied. There may be a locating protrusion 8 with rounded edges for co-operation with the end of a post. The volume may be tapered to aid removal of ballast. Slots 9 may be provided for receiving forks of a forklift. Bases may be stackable. Also claimed is a fence panel assembly having mesh fence panels wherein the ballast is selected from water, sand, concrete etc. and a method of assembly. The assembly may rest on the ground without penetrating it.
