Fence base
A fence base 12 including two spaced part ground stakes 2 attached to a beam 1, the beam having an engaging member e.g. connector plate 10, for attaching to an upstanding vertical fence post 9 when ground stakes have bene driven into the ground. Also claimed is an assembly 11, and a method of constructing the assembly 11, including 2 bases and a panel e.g. mesh panel 15, spanning between 2 upright posts. The stakes or anchors 2 may be ground screws removably attached to opposite ends of each beam. Concrete slabs 3, 4 may engage through cooperating features e.g. recesses under lips 17/18, with beams 1. The system avoids the need for a permanently installed concrete fence base and associated earthworks, and provides a fence base which can be reliably installed in all weather conditions.
